RYAN CHEN

Yorba Linda Branch Director, Chief Technology Officer, Treasurer, Class Instructor

Currently a junior at Valencia High School, Ryan Chen is enrolled in the International Baccalaureate and ValTech programs. Ryan is an active member in the CyberPatriots, FBLA, Robotics teams. I’ve been drawing for as long as I can remember, and I was previously a student at ALM. Now as a long time volunteer, Ryan  handles website development, manages funds, helps lead the team, and teaches one of the advanced art classes that Art Learning Mission provides.

FELICIA LEE

Chief Media Officer, Event Coordinator, Public Relations

Currently a Valencia High School junior, Felicia Lee is enrolled in the International Baccalaureate program. After taking a photography class her sophomore year, she was invited to take pictures at their Winter Formal. Through this club, she is continuing her photography aspirations. Outside of school, Felicia is a storytime volunteer at the Yorba Linda Public Library and a leader for the Youth Self-Development Club of the American Mental Development Research & Education Organization (AMDREO). In her free time, she enjoys travelling and spending time with family and friends.​

JASON ZHENG

Class Instructor

Hello everyone! My name is Jason, and I am an 12th grader at YLHS School. I have been playing and studying chess for 8 years, and it has become one of my greatest passions. Currently, I teach chess at the ALM organization, where I enjoy sharing my knowledge and love for the game. Teaching allows me to pass on the skills I’ve developed over the years to my students, and I am dedicated to helping them improve and enjoy chess as much as I do.

ZHITAO HUANG

Class Instructor

Zhitao Huang is currently a junior attending Yorba Linda High School. As a child, he developed a deep love for both chess and Chinese. Chess strengthened his focus and problem-solving skills, while learning Chinese connected him to his culture and inspired a lasting curiosity for learning.​

Vice President, Class Instructor

Ethan Dygert serves as Vice President of ALM, where he is committed to supporting the organization's mission. He channels his passion for chess into his work, bringing leadership, organization, and dedication to every endeavor. The strategic thinking and patience honed at the chessboard inform his broader role, where he helps guide the team, ensures projects run smoothly, and creates opportunities for growth and impact within the community. His commitment is driven by a deep belief in ALM’s vision, and he works diligently to strengthen it in every way possible. Ethan is dedicated to ensuring that everyone at ALM feels supported, valued, and at peace.

SARAH HAN

Chief Media Officer, Event Coordinator, Public Relations

Sarah Han is currently a junior at Orange County School of the Arts (OCSA) in the Visual Arts conservatory. She has been pursuing art since she was a kid and has won awards like the Gold Key from National Scholastic. Her goal is to share her passion in fun and meaningful ways for kids and to inspire them to express themselves through art. As the leader of both beginning and advanced art classes, she designs weekly lesson plans and prepares materials. She also teaches art in the upper classes for older children and provides more detailed instruction, exploring advanced techniques. Through her leadership, Sarah has created a supportive and engaging environment where students feel encouraged to express themselves creatively.

Class Instructor

Yoyo is a junior at Yorba Linda High School who has drawn since she was a child. Having this opportunity at Art Learning Mission (ALM) allows her to express her own creativity while helping others grow in theirs. In her free time, she likes to curate hyper-specific niche spotify playlists and doomscroll on pinterest. Inspired by the goals ALM strives to achieve, Yoyo is committed to upholding those values and contributing to the community that shaped her.

AMY WANG

Class Instructor

Amy Wang is a 10th grade student in Yorba Linda High School. As an avid art enthusiast, she has spent years honing her skills in the fine arts, building a solid foundation and accumulating substantial creative experience. She excels at transforming boundless imagination into visual expression, and she also loves conveying emotions through singing. To her, art represents two essential languages in life.

ANGELA ZHOU

Class Instructor

Angela Zhou is currently a junior at Yorba Linda High School. Throughout her time in high school, she’s been an active member of FBLA, the Business Academy, and have taken on a variety of leadership roles, but most notably serving as the colorguard captain for the school’s team. Beyond her extracurriculars, she has a strong passion for teaching, especially when it comes to sharing her love for the Chinese language. Her goal is to make learning Chinese engaging and enjoyable for kids by using fun, memorable methods that help them not only remember new words and phrases but also feel confident using them in their everyday lives.

JANEY ZHENG

Class Instructor

Currently a Valencia High School junior, Felicia Lee is enrolled in the International Baccalaureate program. After taking a photography class her sophomore year, she was invited to take pictures at their Winter Formal. Through this club, she is continuing her photography aspirations. Outside of school, Felicia is a Youth Ambassador at the Nixon Library, a storytime volunteer at the Yorba Linda Public Library, and a leader for the Youth Self-Development Club of the American Mental Development Research & Education Organization (AMDREO). When she is not playing piano or cello, she is playing golf or dancing. In her free time, she enjoys travelling and spending time with family and friends.

JANEY ZHENG

Class Instructor

Janey Zheng is a sophomore, currently enrolled in Yorba Linda High School. She learned how to draw from a young age and passed the Chinese Art Exam at level 7. She has continued to develop her skills through both school and outside studio classes. She also participates in the Art & Business Club, where members turn their designs into products to sell and donate to those in need. Janey is also a member of the school band, playing clarinet. In her free time, Janey enjoys drawing, singing, reading, and playing tennis, expressing her creativity in various ways.

ANDY XU

Class Instructor

Andy Xu is a 14-year-old ninth-grade student at Yorba Linda High School who is enthusiastic about teaching Chinese. He is excited for the opportunity to share his knowledge and help others explore a new language. Andy believes that learning Chinese can open many doors, from understanding a different culture to connecting with new people. His goal is to make the learning process enjoyable, clear, and encouraging for everyone. He hopes that students will feel confident, engaged, and supported as they learn. Andy looks forward to teaching, answering questions, and growing together with the group throughout this learning experience.

ANNA XU

Class Instructor

Anna Xu is 15 years old and a sophomore at Yorba Linda High School. Drawing has always been her passion, and she enjoys expressing her creativity through art. As a volunteer, she is responsible for teaching children how to draw, which allows her to combine her love for art with her enthusiasm for working with kids. She takes pride in being kind, patient, and understanding, qualities that help her connect with children and create a positive, fun environment for them to learn and grow. It brings her great joy to see their imaginations come to life on paper, and she feels honored to guide them through this creative process. Volunteering with children is an incredibly rewarding experience for Anna, and she looks forward to every opportunity to inspire and support them.

JERRY CHEN

Class Instructor

Jerry Chen is a 10th grade student at Yorba Linda High School. He is currently teaching Art Beginners, helping students build confidence and basic skills in creative expression. Through this experience, he has learned to communicate clearly and support others in their learning. Jerry hopes to contribute positively and be as helpful as possible to the volunteers of ALM.​
