JOLIN YANG
Vice President & Design Officer
I am currently a Junior at Diamond Bar High School. I am an active member in swim, Symphony Orchestra, USH, and HOSA.
Through running ELM, I am able to help my community members cross the language barrier and help them gain the confidence to communicate in English. I find it rewarding to see our students progress and integrate more fully into society. By creating lesson plans and instructional videos, can adapt our teaching methods to suit different age groups and learning styles. ELM has allowed me to develop leadership skills while making a positive impact on the lives of immigrants. It's a meaningful way for me to give back to my community and support those who face challenges I've seen firsthand.

SUMMER FU
Social Media Officer
My name is Summer and I am currently a sophomore at diamond Bar High School. I’ve always enjoyed learning new languages and I grew up in a bilingual family. I would speak Chinese to my parents and English to my brother, so I’ve always been fluent in both. I am very lucky to be able to learn both languages at a young age, but I know how hard it can be for immigrants. So I hope I can help immigrants transition better by using my privileges.
