MICHAEL CHANG

Math Instructor

Hello, I’m Michael Chang, a junior at Corona Del Mar High School. I volunteer as a math tutor because I’ve always enjoyed problem-solving and working with numbers. As I grew older, I discovered that explaining math to others not only strengthens my own understanding but also gives me the chance to help classmates feel more confident in a subject that can be intimidating. My goal is to make math less stressful and show others that with patience and practice, they can succeed.

Hi, I’m Kiki and I currently attend eighth grade at St. Margaret’s Episcopal School. Drawing has been a side hobby of mine since third grade, and while I don’t actively pursue it anymore, I’m excited to share what I’ve learned with younger kids and help them grow their own creativity.

SAM WENG

Reading Instructor

Hi, I’m Sam Weng. I’m a 7th grader at Fairmont Private Schools. Here at ALM, I am going to be teaching reading to younger students. I like working with kids and helping them sound out new words. Reading is one of my favorite subjects because it opens up so many different stories and ideas. I want to help others enjoy reading the way I do. I’m excited to learn from this experience and grow while my students do too.

CATHERINE KUO

Reading Instructor

Hey, I’m Catherine Kuo and I’m currently in 7th grade at Fairmont Private Schools. I have a passion for reading and I often talk a lot so it would be a great combination of both of my talents to teach little kids reading. I enjoy reading a lot and I want people to like it too. Fun fact: I also won the spelling bee at my school 4 times (3 times in elementary, 1 time in middle school) in a row which might be helpful.
