Declared as a global pandemic, there are over 1,587,209 confirmed cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) worldwide, and the U.S. currently has the most confirmed cases, with more than 46 thousand people infected. Many hospitals and healthcare facilities are facing a severe shortage of medical equipment. The shortage of personal protective equipment such as face masks has become a serious problem for healthcare workers, with some resorting to using less-effective masks or even going without treating patients. During such a global crisis, Art Learning Mission (ALM) wants to contribute to the community and help the hospitals and medical professionals. ALM donated to several different hospitals: CHOC Children's Hospital, Kaiser Riverside, and Kaiser Anaheim. In total, ALM donated 290 boxes of FDA approved surgical masks, 32 bottles of hand sanitizers, 100 pairs of safety goggles, 200 pairs of disposable shoe covers, 200 medical bouffants, and 20 sets of protective coverall. Social distancing in the coronavirus pandemic does not represent the abating of kindness. In this tough time, we need to unite our minds together to combat this global crisis. All of ALM’s volunteers have gathered their strength to give back to the local community, and it is their dream -- and every single human beings’ dream -- to breathe the fresh air, to go out with friends, and to go back to their normal lives.
